Fire Technology commenced trading as an independent Fire System design consultancy in 1996, in response to an identified demand for a specialist provider of truly independent fire systems design & technical advice.

Our technical and design expertise is based upon over ten combined decades of full involvement in the fire protection industry covering every stage of the development of fire protection systems.

We provide technical expertise, detailed documentation, project management and procurement assistance to levels tailored to suit your project specific requirements.

We can further provide recommendations on suitable installation contractors and project budget estimates.

Review and assessment of site risks and requirements to identify appropriate actions to satisfy fire safety issues can be undertaken on both existing and proposed projects.

Our Team

Each member of our team is a specialist in Fire Protection. We are not a general services engineering service. We are a Fire Protection engineering service with a depth of knowledge accordingly.

Eon Radley

Partner/Director

Eon has over 5o+ years continuous involvement in the Fire Protection Industry covering, Design, Consultancy, Manufacture, Supply, Installation and maintenance of the full range of fixed Fire Protection systems. Including 30+ years as Managing Director of Businesses with offices in the 3 main Australian capitals, – Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne.

Since the year 2000 concentration has been solely on providing Design & Technical services on Fire Systems of all disciplines. Eon has also participated on Fire Systems standards development via involvement in S.A.A. committees, FPA and NFIA. Eon also holds registrations and licences with the:-

  • FPIBQ
  • QBCC
  • Building Practitioners Board Victoria
  • Building Practitioners NT
  • Other states pending.

Ben Radley

Partner/Director

Ben has spent 20+ years in the Fire Industry heavily involved in the Design of the full range of Fire Disciplines. From the simplest to the most complex projects, he has dabbled in them all. To broaden his education Ben spent 1 year in the UK working with SPIE – Matthew Hall as Lead Designer on several major projects.

Ben has also completed a Diploma of Project Management. Ben leads our team in development of 3D design capabilities and has overseen 3D design for major projects such as the Townsville Hospital upgrade, the Cairns Hospital upgrade and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital amongst many other projects. Ben is a partner in the Firm and is leading the company into the future.
Ben also holds the following authority licences:-

Matthew Daws

Senior Designer

Matthew, with 8+ years experience with Fire Technology has achieved a high level of competence in production of comprehensively produced Fire Systems construction level detailed designs. In addition he has also attained high competency in 3D “Revit” design across multiple major projects, within Australia and New Zealand. Many major public works projects across Australia have been detailed by Matthew involving full 3D Design & Clash processes.

Tim Radley

Installation Certifier/Consultant/Project Management

Tim has 18+ years of experience in the industry. Primarily relevant to site supervision and Cert III wet Installation, Testing and Maintenance aspect of the industry. Tim holds Certificate IV in Fire Protection Compliance (Pumpsets, Suppression, Sprinklers, Hydrants & Hose Reels) giving all the qualifications required to undertake site surveys, consultation, Installation Certification and verification of testing procedures to AS1851. Together with the appropriate Q.B.C.C. licence. Tim further is experienced in provision of Project Management of complex Fire System installations involving programming and scheduling of all process stages.

Benjamin Kecek

Cad Operator/Trainee

Benjamin provides valuable assistance to all design team members and is well versed in the preparation of design backgrounds and CAD Tracing. He further assists via undertaking calculations, 3D modelling + preparation in conjunction with the senior designers.

Jason Radcliffe

Project Engineer – Fire & Hydraulics

Jason has 37 years of experience in both design & construction sectors working on projects ranging from $1000- up to $1.6 billion. Experienced fire & hydraulic engineering professional with proven success in building services sector/construction industry sector as Project Engineer, having worked on many different industry sectors such as government, commercial, industrial, healthcare & defence.

Successfully track record producing high level compliant engineering drawings, executing hydraulic calculations, coordinating multiple disciplines, supervising subcontractors, ensuring installation compliance, liasing with clients, auditing sites & writing reports/budget setting, in addition to championing value engineering and cost management.

Highly focused and results-oriented in supporting complex, deadline-driving design & construction operations; committed to upholding the highest level of compliance to relevant Fire Standards. Excels at understanding client requirements/drivers/deadlines, eliminating design & installation risk, designing cost effective systems, and advancing cross-functional cooperation for successful project design, development, and documentation. Outstanding engineering expertise in fire protection & hydraulic services.
